Dramabaazi 2012 is back!!

Thespo is excited to announce the return of Dramabaazi.

The Dramabaazi playshop, Thespo’s Children’s Wing, is a unique program designed for participants in the age group of 8-14 years of age



 The details of Dramabaazi 2012:
·        The playshop will run from 1st May to 4th June 2012
·        This will be followed by shows at Prithvi Theatre on 5th  and 6th June 2012.  
·        The sessions will be held 4-6 days per week at Prabhadevi.
·        Each session will be between 2-4 hours. The sessions will get more intensive closer to the days of performance.
·        Initial sessions will cover icebreaker and warm up exercises followed by some interactive theatre games aimed at bringing the participants to work as a team.
·        Abhishek Saha and 3-4 Dramabaazi co-coordinators will mainly lead these exercises.
·        Slowly the text (play script) will be introduced in the sessions as topics for improvisations, storytelling, song writing and general discussions.
·        The latter half of the sessions will focus on rehearsing the play for the public performances and the playshop will culminate with shows.

Thespo 13 Awards Night



The Thespo 13 Jury Panel comprising of Sheeba Chaddha, Meher Marfatia, Hanif Patni & Shashank Shende judged the 4 entries that made it to this year’s edition and the results were announced last evening at the NCPA Experimental Theatre at the Thespo 13 Awards Night.

The evening started off with the President of Theatre Group Bombay, Mr. Alyque Padamsee presenting the Thespo 13 Lifetime Achievement Award to Arundhati & Jagdish Raja from Bangalore.  
On receiving the award, Jagdish Raja shared a few words of encouragement with those present: “Wimbledon wouldn’t be Wimbledon if it had wound up in five years. It has been going on for over a hundred years come rain or shine. I wish Thespo the same destiny!"

This was followed by the announcement of the Thespo 13 awards in the various categories. Patient from BMCC College, Pune swept the awards with the coveted Thespos for Outstanding Play, Director and Production Design. Performances in Cock walked away with the Acting awards for Lead Actor and Actress. Ek Don Adhich was rewarded for New Writing. Janhit Mein Jaari tied with Patient for the Thespo for Male Actor in a Supporting Role.
